NON SURGICAL ULTRASOUND FACE AND NECK LIFT

How is this procedure different than non-surgical skin tightening procedures?

Non Surgical Ultrasound is the only nonsurgical skin rejuvenation procedure that can specifically target and strengthen the deep foundational layer of tissue that doctors address in surgery. The ability to treat not just the skin but its underlying support, from the inside out, helps to ensure both safe and satisfying results, with no downtime. What does it feel like?

There may be some discomfort while the energy is being delivered, but it is temporary and a signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, and practitioners will discuss options for making the experience as pleasant as possible. Patients leave comfortable and happy given the benefits to come.

Dr. Nield usually applies a very fast acting topical freezing cream that effectively numbs the skin within 30 minutes. Usually this is all that is needed prior to the treatment. Dr. Nield performs the Non Surgical Ultrasound treatment herself, knowing that this is a very specialized procedure that requires a high level of expertise to achieve the best results.

In fact, Dr. Nield was the first physician in Vaughan to offer this procedure and remains a leader in effective skin tightening procedures.

Dr. Nield is the only dermatologist in Ontario who routinely performs the Non Surgical Ultrasound herself. Hence, Dr. Nield has consistently positive results.

Recently, new transducers have been developed that can be used to reduce upper lip lines. These vertical lines that radiate out from the lips can be due to smoking, aging and chronic sun exposure. Cosmetic wrinkle injections and fillers may not be enough to reduce these lines. Patients may not wish the aggressiveness of Laser resurfacing and potential side effects. An Non Surgical Ultrasound treatment stimulates new collagen without causing any adverse surface changes.

Non Surgical Ultrasound treatments can now be used to reduce upper chest wrinkling secondary to chronic sun exposure.

What can I expect afterwards?

You are able to return to your normal activities right away, and there are no special measures you need to take. Your skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after the treatment, but any redness should disappear within an hour. Occasionally patients may experience slight swelling or tenderness to the touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature.

Is Non Surgical Ultrasound safe?

Non Surgical Ultrasound energy has a proven track record, with use in the field of medicine for over 50 years and clinical trials have demonstrated the safety of this latest application. As with any medical procedure, there are general safety considerations, which your physician will review with you. Dr. Nield performs the procedure herself, ensuring that you receive the highest level of care when you have this non- invasive procedure.

What kind of results can I expect?

With just one treatment, the regenerative process is initiated, but the full effect will build gradually over the course of two to three months. The overall results can be seen for at least one year after oly one treatment. Some patients may benefit from more than one treatment.

Patients have found that following an Non Surgical Ultrasound treatment, they need less frequent injections of cosmetic wrinkle injections or fillers.

Visible effects include a lifting and toning of loose skin. In the FDA clinical trial for instance, nine out of ten patients had a noticeable, significant lift of the brow line. This resulted in reduced skin laxity on the eyelid and a more open, youthful look to the eyes overall. Patients reported firmer, better-fitting skin in other areas of the face and neck as well. There is also an invisible result from the procedure with the creation of new collagen, which can help to slow down the rate of skin aging.

Who is a good candidate for Non Surgical Ultrasound?

A good candidate for Non Surgical Ultrasound is someone with skin that has “relaxed” to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. A lowered brow line or sagging skin on the eyelids, for instance, is often the first sign of “maturing” skin. Non Surgical Ultrasound can lift your cheeks, leaving them to look very natural, and youthful. Non Surgical Ultrasound can reduce upper lip wrinkling and chest wrinkling. Non Surgical Ultrasound can rejuvenate your neck and jawline.

While it is not a replacement for surgery, Non Surgical Ultrasound has proven to be an inviting alternative for those who are not ready for surgery.
