MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion is a gentle procedure that polishes the face and immediately softens the skin, with very little downtime. It stimulates new collagen formation, firming the skin, and is an effective treatment for rough skin with dry or dull patches, uneven skin colour, mild age or sun spots, enlarged or clogged pores and mild acne scarring.

During the treatment, a fine diamond tip moves across the skin, polishing the surface, while a vacuum gently removes old skin cells and unclogs pores. Microdermabrasion can be done on its own or in combination with other treatments like injectable soft tissue fillers and topical skin care products. It can be used on any area of the body, is beneficial for all skin types, and is particularly effective for people with sensitive skin. The treatment is very mild. You can return to you work and regular activities immediately after the treatment.

Microdermabrasion is also great for neck rejuvenation – the diamond tip transducer gently buffs the skin on your neck and chest to make it smoother and more uniform in appearance. For best results, we recommend a series of 6 treatments every 1 to 2 weeks.

A treatment takes 20-30 minutes. You may experience mild tingling for a few hours after a treatment, but you can resume regular activities right away.

You will need a series of 6 microdermabrasions, every 1 to 2 weeks. Maintenance sessions can always be done before a special event.

Your skin will look and feel smoother immediately – this softness can last for weeks, especially if you combine it with recommended anti-aging products and sun protection. However, since it is such a mild treatment, it may not have the same impact as some of the more penetrating treatments such as photorejuvenation or chemical peels.
  1. Make sure your face is completely clean – no moisturizers or makeup, please.
  2. If you’ve had a recent cold sore, please delay your treatment, or speak to us about antiviral medication that can help prevent an outbreak after treatment.
  3. Avoid treatment if you’ve recently had a sunburn or a skin infection.
  4. Avoid aspirin, green tea or herbal medications, as they may cause bruising to occur.
