Haiti 2012

Dr. Nield volunteered as a medical student in 1982 to work in a community based hospital in Haiti. Since then, she has been involved with providing aid to Haiti. In recent years, Dr. Nield has been travelling to Haiti to provide dermatological care at the Hôpital Bon Samaritain (HBS) in Limbe, Haiti. This hospital was founded in the 1950’s by an American physician, Dr. William Hodges.

Hôpital Bon Samaritain is a full service hospital with outreach programs that benefit the town of Limbé and the surrounding communities. Dr. Nield sees a great need for dermatological care in Haiti, and feels very privileged that she has been so welcomed by the people of Limbé.
